Closing the Gap: The Turning Point for LGBTQ Health launch (6/3)

Much has changed since One Colorado Education Fund’s (OCEF) 2011 health assessment, Invisible: The State of LGBT Health. We have expanded non-discrimination protections, increased rates of insurance coverage, and won the freedom to marry for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families, among other advancements. We conducted a comparative study in 2018 to learn more about the lived experiences of LGBTQ Coloradans accessing health care and want to share with you what we learned.

Despite the legal advancements achieved since 2011, LGBTQ Coloradans experience worse health mental and behavioral health outcomes, higher rates of harassment and discrimination, and greater barriers accessing competent and inclusive care. Join us for on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 from 5:30 – 7 PM for the launch of Closing the Gap: The Turning Point for LGBTQ Health. There is much work to do.
