Improving LGBTQ Food Access in Pueblo County
Since our founding in 2010, One Colorado has focused on improving LGBTQ Coloradan’s health, while and passing legislation to increase healthcare access, protections against discrimination, and LGBTQ competency among healthcare providers and systems. As we continue this work, we are also expanding our health work to encompass more than what happens in a doctor’s offices or clinic, to include social determinants of health like LGBTQ food access.
With the support of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Health Disparities and Community Grant Program, One Colorado is launching a multi-year initiative to improve food access for LGBTQ Coloradans and our families! For this grant period, our work will focus on Pueblo County to promote wellbeing for LGBTQ Coloradans, their families, and the communities in which we work, grow, and live.

LGBTQ Cultural Competency
One Colorado is providing free workshops about LGBTQ+ best practices for anyone who works in food systems in Pueblo County or surrounding areas. The workshop is geared toward folks who serve food, work for organizations who provide food, volunteer in food banks, or are interested in learning more about the intersection of LGBTQ+ folks and food equity!
