Garrett Royer

he/him/his

Garrett has a long-standing passion for advocacy and activism in Colorado and empowering communities through civic engagement. Like many on the One Colorado team, he identifies as LGBTQ+ and found his place in advocacy through his identity and his interest in community organizing during the 2012 Obama Campaign. He has worn several hats at One Colorado, first as the Denver Metro Field Organizer, then later moved into a fundraising role as the Development Manager. Garrett now serves as the Deputy Director, working to bring in resources to the organization and steer One Colorado’s political and advocacy efforts.

Garrett was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and has spent most of his life in the state of Colorado. He received his BA in Political Science at the University of Northern Colorado. During his years in community organizing, political advocacy, and achieving One Colorado’s goals towards LGBTQ equality, Garrett has found a passion for approaching social justice through a community-informed and intentional lens.

On the weekends, Garrett enjoys spending his time with his fiance, Nick, and their dog Bernie. He enjoys cooking and spending as much time in the mountains as possible.
