Sage Sankofa began working at One Colorado as the Youth & Community Engagement Coordinator in January 2023.

Sage Sankofa is a Black nonbinary educator from Philadelphia, PA. For the past ten years, they have been facilitating trainings on gender and sexuality for a variety of organizations, including non-profits, K-12 schools, and higher education institutions. In addition to their work as a community organizer, where they have led efforts to bring about policy changes and organized protests while connecting communities to resources, they have also studied sociology and LGBTQ studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Their focus has been on supporting the futures of LGBTQ youth, as they believe that youth are essential to the liberation of the LGBTQ community. In all their work, they strive to maintain an intersectional and equitable perspective, building programs and trainings that consider the intersecting identities and experiences of those they serve. In their spare time, they are a photographer and writer and enjoy black sci-fi movies and books!
