Just Released: One Colorado Education Fund’s 2013 Annual Report

annual report thumbnailOne Colorado Education Fund’s 2013 Annual Report is now available, highlighting the progress we have made on behalf of LGBT Coloradans and their families.

2013 was a busy year for our community — from removing barriers for transgender people in accessing the health care they need and passing civil unions legislation, to continuing our work creating safe schools and building community alliances. Here are just a few of our accomplishments last year:

    • Passed civil unions legislation with a coalition of over 150 organizations and more than 250 faith leaders representing 1.2 million Coloradans.

    • Empowered and equipped young people as they start Gay-Straight Alliances in communities across the state and built the 4th largest gay-straight alliance network in the country, with more than 280,000 young people having access to a GSA in their school.
    • Secured a victory with the Colorado Division of Insurance, ensuring that health insurers can no longer specifically exclude transgender Coloradans in their coverage plans.

    • Together with the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, launched a nationally recognized joint organizing and public education project to build support for relationship recognition and tuition equity for undocumented students.
