One Colorado mourns the murders of eight people at the hands of a white gunman in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday. It is especially heartbreaking that the majority of the victims were women in the Asian American community, who were targeted because of their race and profession. Violence against Asian and Asian American communities has been on the rise and  should be condemned from all sectors of society. At One Colorado, we know that the roots of misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and white supremacy are deeply entangled. Our work is to expose and dismantle the systems that empower this bigotry and violence. We stand in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander family and explicitly denounce hatred, racism, and discrimination. We will stay vigilant and remain committed to working towards a fair and just Colorado for all.
