All across Colorado, LGBT young people like the film’s CJ, face bullying, name-calling, harassment, and even violence. A new law that was passed this year is a tremendous step in the right direction, but more work must be done to ensure that LGBT youth are given the opportunity to thrive in our schools and in our communities.Through this screening of Out in the Silence in your town, we hope to start a conversation about how we can work together to ensure that LGBT students are out, safe, and respected in local schools.
Join us for statewide screenings of this powerful film — and be sure to stick around after the movie for a discussion about local efforts to improve school safety for LGBT young people.
