One Colorado Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month
The month of May is a time to reflect on the contributions, challenges, and history of our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members. Despite attempts to erase queer Asian activists from history, they have pressed through the obstacles of colonialism and white supremacy, and we proudly pay tribute to those who fought for equality before us. We also want to celebrate the achievements of activists today who are standing up against the surge of anti-Asian violence in the wake of the pandemic, and we mourn the loss of the six women of Asian decent killed in Atlanta earlier this year. This AAPI Heritage Month, One Colorado is uplifting the voices of LGBTQ AAPI-identifying advocates and highlighting their accomplishments. We stand with our AAPI community!
