One Colorado celebrates Rep. Titone becoming Chair of the LGBTQ Caucus
Denver, CO- One Colorado, the state’s leading advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families, released the following statement regarding the new LGBTQ Caucus Chair, Representative Brianna Titone. Representative Titone is breaking barriers and turning a new chapter of leadership in Colorado. During the 2020 legislative session, we saw the passage of two important bills — banning the gay and trans panic defense and expanding access to HIV medications. These bills could not have succeeded without the support of the LGBTQ Caucus and of Representative Titone, in particular. We are excited to continue working with Representative Titone as she becomes the LGBTQ Caucus Chair.Representative Titone replaces Representative Alex Valdez-HD5 as the Chair of the LGBTQ Caucus. Other members include Sen. Joann Ginal SD14, Rep. Leslie Herod HD8, Sen. Sonya Jaquez Lewis SD17, Sen. Dominick Moreno SD21, Rep. Daneya Esgar HD46, and Rep. David Ortiz HD38.In an article to the Gazette, Representative Titone stated, “As Chair of the LGBTQ Caucus, I’ll continue fighting for progress while standing against hatred and bigotry wherever I see it. I’m grateful to my colleagues for their support- I won’t let you down.”
