Denver, CO - One Colorado, the state’s leading advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) Coloradans and their families, has endorsed Jared Polis for Governor. One Colorado released the following statements:

“One Colorado is proud to support Governor Jared Polis," said Nadine Bridges, MSW (she/her), One Colorado Executive Director. "He is committed to ensuring that LGBTQ+ Coloradans are not only protected but can thrive. It is not easy to be the first, in any category, as many will set an unattainable bar for one to reach. However, as a leader Governor Polis has risen to the occasion, and I believe he will continue to do so in the years to come. We proudly endorse Governor Polis and look forward to working together to guarantee protections for all LGBTQ+ Coloradans and families, including creating opportunities for our most vulnerable to have equal access to promote success and healthy living.”

“Throughout his career, Governor Polis has shown a commitment to LGBTQ+ equality," said Juan Gallegos (he/him), One Colorado C4 Board Chair. "In Congress he sponsored the Equality Act, and as Governor has supported pro-equality legislation including Jude’s Law, the Ban on Conversion Therapy for Minors, PrEP & PeP Expansion, and most recently Culturally Relevant Healthcare Training and Marlo’s Law. Governor Polis’ track record reflects leadership that Coloradans, especially LGBTQ+ Coloradans, can trust. From now until November, One Colorado will work to elect pro-equality candidates like Governor Polis on Election Day.”

Governor Polis made history as the first openly gay governor in the United States in 2018. One Colorado looks forward to working alongside Governor Polis to achieve greater equality for all LGBTQ+ Coloradans, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized in our communities. One Colorado remains committed to advancing transgender rights, uplifting the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth leaders, increasing access to affirming healthcare, and ensuring LGBTQ+ Coloradans’ voices are represented in halls of power and through elections.  One Colorado is dedicated to engaging its members, supporters, and volunteers to mobilize Colorado’s voters in support of pro-equality candidates on the ballot.
