One Colorado Executive Director Dave Montez released the following statement tonight on the passing of local hero and LGBT community leader Dennis Dougherty:
“Tonight, our community mourns the loss of a local icon and personal hero to so many of us. Dennis Dougherty’s passion for fairness and justice was surpassed only by his steadfast commitment to creating a better world for the generations that followed him. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him, and his legacy will carry on in the many lives he touched.”
