One Colorado Responds to the Proposed Title IX Rule on Trans Student Inclusion in Sports
One Colorado commends the The Biden administration and Department of Education proposed regulations for a Title IX Athletics rule to protect the right of all students of all ages to participate in any sport in this country. Youth, including trans and intersex youth, deserve the most inclusive and protective rule possible. We will continue to work with our local, statewide, and national partners to ensure that a final rule supports the full inclusion of trans, nonbinary, and intersex students in all aspects of education, including sports.”Additionally, One Colorado joined 48+ organizations across the U.S. with leadership from The National Center for Transgender Equality, GLSEN, the American School Counselor Association, interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the National Education Association, to submit a comment letter to the Department of Education in response to their proposed Title IX athletics rule. While we recognize that the proposed rule takes significant steps toward inclusion, we urged several revisions to improve the rule text.View our collective recommendations.
