One Colorado Stands in Solidarity with Montrose Pride
Denver, CO – One Colorado released the following statements in response to the hate speech directed at Montrose Pride over July 4th weekend:
“I am deeply disappointed that the Montrose Pride community had such backlash after hosting its first very successful and well-attended Pride this year,” said Heidi Hess (she/her), One Colorado Western Slope Field Organizer. “Montrose Pride should remain proud of their accomplishments! One Colorado stands in solidarity with them.”
Montrose Pride posted about the incident on their social media, stating:
“We are deeply saddened and outraged at the hate speech directed at the Montrose Pride float during the 4th of July Parade. That such behavior came from members of our own community is especially disheartening. This kind of conduct has no place in Montrose or anywhere else, and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Thank you to all who stand with us in solidarity. Together, we can create a better, more loving Western Slope!”
