One Colorado’s 2020 LGBTQ Lobby Day
Denver, CO -- One Colorado, the state's leading advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families, is organizing the annual LGBTQ Lobby Day on Monday, February 24th, 2020.What: 2020 LGBTQ Lobby DayWhen: Monday, February 24th 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM MSTWhere: Colorado State Capitol, 200 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80203LGBTQ Lobby is a chance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Coloradans and their families and allies, to meet face-to-face with their elected officials and advocate for issues that are important to them. In 2019, One Colorado turned out approximately 300 individuals from across the state for LGBTQ Lobby Day.“Every year, One Colorado brings hundreds of LGBTQ Coloradans and allies to the Capitol for legislators to meet their constituents and hear directly from them. Too often, elected officials from conservative districts claim that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people don’t exist where they live. LGBTQ Lobby Day is a chance for the LGBTQ and allied community to show up and speak out about the issues impacting our families in every corner of our state.”- Daniel Ramos, One Colorado Executive Director“LGBTQ Lobby Day is a powerful day, both for constituents and elected officials. When I have the chance to meet with groups of LGBTQ Coloradans and allies from my district and listen to their stories and concerns, it makes a big impact.”- Rep. Alex Valdez (D-Denver), Chair of the LGBTQ CaucusThe event will be available to television cameras. Please RSVP to Sheena Kadi at sheenak@one-colorado.org. ###
