Recognizing November 20th, Transgender Day of Remembrance
Today, November 20th, One Colorado is observing the 15th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. As we come together to remember those whose lives have been lost to senseless violence against our community, we know we must also commit ourselves to making things better — for the one in five transgender Americans who report being refused medical care, the 41% who report attempting suicide, the 78% who report being harassed in their school, and so many others.Trans* issues touch every corner of our advocacy work — from safe schools to health care to relationship recognition. As an organization, One Colorado is fully committed to the important work ahead — as we help our transgender friends secure the protections they deserve.
